What are the best camping spots?

It’s tricky to give the best advice for the most suited camping spots without knowing in what direction you’ll be travelling? However we’ve found a good start is to check out this amazing map of most camping spots throughout Southern Africa.

How far is the Kruger National Park from Cape Town?

The approximate distance is almost 1800 km which should take you around 18-19 hours drive. If you want to attempt this trip we recommend at least a 2 week round-trip. Otherwise you’ll be doing more driving than actual exploring.

Do I have enough gas canisters?

If used sparingly gas canisters should last anything between 2-4 days per canister, however if you know that you’ll be doing a lot more cooking then it’s best to take a few spares. If you do run out not to worry as most hardware stores along the way do stock these canisters.

Are your blankets warm enough?

Cape Town and the surrounds has a mediterranean climate so cold and wet in Winter and hot and dry in Summer. Our blankets are definitely sufficient for both seasons however if you feel you need more be free to bring additional bedding.

What discounts do you offer?

We offer three types of discounts based on the length of your rental:

7 days or more = 5% Discount

14 days or more = 10% Discount

21 Days or more = 15% Discount

What is the best route for the Garden Route?

One of our good friends Mark Harpur wrote this amazing blog on the Garden Route which you can follow step by step. He even threw in a cultural tour. Enjoy!

How many days do I need to see Cape Town?

To explore Cape Town fully we would suggest 3-4 days as anything less will feel like a sprint! Make sure that you include the following in your itinerary: Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront, Boulders Beach, Kirstenbosch Gardens & of course Lion’s Head.

Do I need a GPS / Navigation System?

We recommend that you buy a pre-paid simcard at any cellular network provider (Vodacom or MTN) & put that into your own mobile device. Stores are located at all malls or at the airport.

When should I tip someone?

Our rule of thumb is that you tip someone who has actually provided a service to you. For example, waiters or petrol station attendants however not beggars or free handouts.
